The Art for Change Atelier (TAFCA)
The Art for Change Atelier (TAFCA) is a project of Discovering New Artists (DNA) in collaboration with The Queen's Commonwealth Trust (QCT), UK, a creative space for students’ holistic learning. Many organizations are realizing that students need more than just a strong foundation in the core curriculum; they now need to develop a compassionate understanding of the world around them. TAFCA is an innovative space for children to utilize their strengths, discover their identities, find meaning in the community and explore the world connections through the process of art and design.
DNA is creating creative learning opportunities integrated into arts and design for students from both private and low-income sectors. We believe alternate education like art and design education is needed to develop creative skills, critical thinking, and self-expression which are important to boost the self-esteem and socio-emotional growth of an individual. We aim to further our One-for-One model through TAFCA, where one registration from a private school student in TAFCA will enable one student from a community-run school to attend the same course for free of cost.
What will students learn?
Through TAFCA, students will be involved in art activities and projects, which will enhance their observational skills and activities that improve their hand-eye coordination. The art classes combine fun and creativity while developing technical art and craft skills. We have different age groups that we accommodate with age-appropriate programming. We give our artists the opportunity to play with various mediums such as drawing, paints, and crayons. Students will also explore unconventional art techniques of various art forms practiced by renowned artists.
Your registration is making a difference!
We aim to further our One-for-One model through TAFCA, where one registration from a private school student in TAFCA will enable one student from a community-run school to attend the same course for free of cost. Our team has been giving free workshops to the community schools students previously as well.
