Art for Change - International
Every year, DNA aims to introduce themes based on UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the purpose to enlighten young minds on a grass-root level. This year, we want our participants to share their artistic interpretations on our themes focus on the vital aspects of preserving our planet.
This year, we are also partnering with Rising Hope Foundation Cameroon who will be organising Art for Change across the UK schools to benefit children in Cameroon under our one-for-one model.
Theme
This year's themes are;
1. Sustainable Architecture
2. Water Conservation
Sustainable Architecture
Sustainable architecture focuses on designing buildings and structures that are eco-friendly and energy-efficient. Children and young people can draw or paint homes and schools made from natural materials like bamboo, recycled wood, and solar panels. They can depict green roofs covered with plants, walls covered in vines, and large windows that let in natural light. Adding wind turbines and rainwater collection systems can show how buildings can harness renewable energy and conserve water. Imagine a futuristic city where everything is in harmony with nature, and use bright, vibrant colors to show a world where humans and the environment thrive together.
Water Conservation
Water conservation is about using water wisely and ensuring there's enough for everyone, including future generations. Children and young people can illustrate scenes of people engaging in activities that save water, such as fixing leaky faucets, using rain barrels, and watering gardens with recycled water. They can also show natural landscapes like rivers, lakes, and oceans, with messages about keeping these bodies of water clean and pollution-free. Drawing community gardens, where people grow food using water-efficient techniques, can highlight how we can all contribute to saving water. Use blues and greens to bring these water-friendly scenes to life and inspire everyone to take action to protect this vital resource.
