Continuing to build up the energy for ‘art for change,’ DNA members, Mujtaba Zaidi and Khadija Ali went to Model Town branch of Beaconhouse School System on 7th April 2014. There were a total of 270 students who attended the presentation along with the teaching staff of the school. Ms. Sumaira Ambreen, the arts teacher at Model town branch was the main person coordinating with us for the presentation.
As with our previous presentations, the students responded in a zealous manner. It was amazing to note how their pure minds were willing to support and promote ‘art for change.’ They especially loved the song ‘kahan jayeinge,’ a song composed by DNA on the theme of importance of education. Their eagerness to participate served as a motivation for DNA, to keep working towards the objectives. The best thing about giving an in person presentation is to have a one-on-one experience. The art teacher, after looking at our presentation, told us that the children who previously were a little reluctant in participating would now be more willing to contribute to the competition.
